Production Machinist

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Machine Operations:
    • Interpret blueprints to determine part dimensions, tolerances, operation sequence, and setup needs.
    • Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials for production machines.
    • Start and monitor machine operations, identifying and correcting malfunctions or deviations.
  • Quality Control:
    • Verify finished workpieces meet specifications using precision measuring instruments.
    • File, sand, shape, or clean machined parts as necessary.
  • Maintenance & Organization:
    • Suggest or replace worn machine accessories to maintain performance.
    • Monitor and replenish coolant levels.
    • Keep machines and surrounding areas clean and organized, removing chips daily.
    • Request necessary supplies and tools proactively.
  • Process Improvement & Reporting:
    • Accurately document production data, including piece counts.
    • Assist in setting and optimizing production standards.
    • Develop or update process documentation when needed.
  • General Duties:
    • Adhere to safety protocols and company policies.
    • Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.
